Author and political commentator Dlck Morris* spoke at The Book Review in Huntington, NY on Saturday, June 27. Chairs were ready to accommodate an audience of about 150. The crowd swelled beyond 300! Morris didn’t disappoint. He gave an informative speech that focused on President Barack Hussein Obama’s most disturbing actions to date. Obama has repeatedly reneged on his moderate campaign promises and worked hard to make good on his radical promises. He’s wrecking the country with his ratifications to our democratic way of life. Obama’s overhauls are hardly fixes but rather actions that are speeding the nation toward socialism and a CATASTROPHE.
CATASTROPHE, by the way, is the title of Morris’s latest book (co-written with his wife, Eileen McGann). At the lecture, the former Bill Clinton advisor and campaign strategist focused extensively on the financial crash, “Obama’s War on Prosperity” and the president’s plan to radically overhaul the healthcare system. (His comparisons between our own health care and Canada’s are chilling. We don’t want to be Canada or any other nation that embraces socialistic medical treatment!) If implemented, Obama’s healthcare revamps will move us one step closer to socialism. Indeed, virtually all of Obama’s moves have us racing on a path to socialism.
Morris is accurate in noting that the president wants to Europeanize America. Obama wants us to be France, Germany, the Netherlands and other socialist leaning countries. That’s dangerous and mystifying, given that these countries and others (Spain, anyone?) have proven time and again that socialist principles, when implemented, don’t work. Of course, that hasn’t deterred the president from force-feeding us a socialist agenda but it should motivate us to fight tooth and claw to keep America a capitalist democracy.
Check out Obama’s stimulus package, for instance. Social programs and bloated government are evident throughout. Morris devotes 10 pages of his book to reprint the full $787 billion bill “in all its gory glory” (CATASTROPHE, pp. 10-20). He speculates that “Obama must have known that his stimulus package would do little to end the recession.” (p. 9). But that doesn’t matter. What does is advancing his socialist agenda and securing as much power as possible before his ratings tank.
Morris also touched on Israel in his talk and probes its ongoing crisis more expansively in CATASTROPHE. Never during the existence of that state has the U.S. been less its friend. And never has our country seemed so determined to help Israel’s chief adversary, Hamas.
One of the great things about reading any Dlck Morris book (check out OUTRAGED and FLEECED if you haven’t already) is that he backs up all claims with source after source after source. Clearly, he’s deeply in tune with American culture – its virtues and ills – on a multiplicity of levels (economically, politically, sociologically). And he doesn’t just whine about our problems. Morris shows us where we’ve been, where we are, where we might be going and what we need to do to fix our problems. At the talk, Morris pointed out that the reason he and his wife wrote CATASTROPHE was not just to inform the public about the problems we’re facing but also to give us a lot of homework. Most of the chapters in CATASTROPHE wrap with an “Action Agenda” in which he offers solutions: actions to take, politicians to contact and votes to cast.
Dlck Morris and Eileen McGann should be commended for the work they’re doing to keep America free. If you care about the U.S.’s imperiled state, CATASTROPHE is must reading. So is doing the “homework” Morris talks about and getting involved to stop Obama and the loony liberals from destroying our country.
* OK knows we misspelled Mr. Morris's first name througohut the essay, but this blog system didn't allow us to publish Mr. Morris's first name spelled correctly -- hence, the "1" for "i" substitutions throughout. Our apologies to Mr. Morris.
